What is Baking Soda?
Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, is a simple chemical compound and is found in crystalline form in nature. It is then ground up into a fine powder.
Why is Baking Soda good for our teeth?
Baking Soda is a gentle abrasive that helps whiten and clean teeth, which helps prevent tooth decay. Some have given it a bad rap with saying it is too harsh, but that is not true. Toothpastes are rated on a scale of 0 to 250 of abrasiveness - this is called the RDA (relative dentin abrasion). Pure baking soda (which is what we use) is rated as a 7. Check out the scale HERE. Baking soda is also effective for bad breath.
What is Bentonite Clay?
Also referred as Montmorillonite, is an effect and healing clay composed of volcanic ash. It is formed after volcanic ash has weathered and aged in the presence of water. It has a strong negative electromagnetic charge, and when activated by water, it acts like a magnet on and in our bodies, pulling toxins (which have a positive charge) to it.

Bentonite binds to toxins and bad bacteria in our mouths, which helps prevent tartar and gum disease. It is naturally healing to the body as well because of it's negative charge. It also has trace minerals that support oral health.

Orange Essential Oil is cold pressed from the peel of the orange fruit (Citrus Sinensi plant).
Why is Orange Essential Oil good for our teeth?
Orange Essential Oil is anti-inflammatory and is an antiseptic (prevents growth of disease causing microorganisms. It therefore decreases inflammation of the gums and prevents bacteria that causes gingivitis. They help remove stains and whiten teeth.
What is Coconut Oil?
Coconut oil is an edible oil extracted from the coconut meat and is rich in saturated fat.
Why is Coconut Oil good for teeth?
Coconut oil, like Xylitol, has shown to be effective in fighting against the bacteria in our mouths, such as Streptococcus mutans. Besides getting rid of tooth decay, it also kills bad breath, heals bleeding gums, reduces inflammation, whitens teeth, and prevents cavities.

What is Mentha Piperita (Peppermint)?
Also known as Peppermint, which is a hybrid mint between watermint and spearmint.
Why is Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) good for your teeth?
Mentha piperita inhibits microbial biofilms. Why does this matter you ask? Well, dental plaque is a biofilm that builds up on the teeth. Biofilms contain disease-causing bacteria and their accumulation contributes to cavities and gum disease.
The cool taste of peppermint also helps with bad breath, leaving your breath fresher.
